Meg Ryan Discusses Her Failed Marriage To Dennis Quaid
Meg Ryan discusses her divorce from Dennis Quaid and being at the center of negative media attention in the November issue of "W" magazine.
In her first interview to clear up the subject of her divorce from fellow Hollywood personality Dennis Quaid, Meg Ryan remained tight-lipped about the specific reasons for the breakup, noting that "the real reasons for it will always be speculation, because I'll never talk about what went down, and neither will Dennis." The interview, which will appear in "W's" November issue, will be on newsstands on October 20.
Among the details that Ryan does disclose are the facts that Quaid never cheated on her and that the split did not occur as the result of her interest in new beau, Russell Crowe. Ryan has explicitly stated that "Neither of us, me nor Dennis, is cavalier about a breakup. We both behaved very honorably, in our marriage and in our breakup. He never cheated on me. I can't believe they're saying that about him." Ryan has also said of Quaid: "The guy is an honorable man. And the reasons we broke up have nothing to do with another person."
Despite that, many have taken interest in Ryan and Crowe, who were spotted together at the Olympics in Sydney. The W article, however, includes no mention of Ryan's interest in the Aussie star, thanks to her publicist, who has required all interviewers to avoid related questions. Meanwhile, Ryan and Quaid have attempted to protect Jack, their 8-year-old son, from blistering media reports.
