Preview - Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks are hoping to erase the memories of last year's embarrassing playoff loss to San Antonio.
Dallas Mavericks
2000 Record: (53-29), 3rd in Midwest Division
Player Losses: Calvin Booth, Howard Eisley, Gary Trent, Mark Bryant, Obinna Ekezie.
Player Additions: Tim Hardaway, Evan Eschmeyer, Danny Manning, Adrian Griffin, Darrick Martin, Khalid El-Amin, Muggsy Bogues.
Projected Starting Five:
Center - Shawn Bradley (7'6" 265 lbs.)
Forward - Juwan Howard (6'9" 250 lbs.)
Forward - Dirk Nowitzski (7'0" 245 lbs.)
Guard - Michael Finley (6'7" 215 lbs.)
Guard - Steve Nash (6'3" 195 lbs.)
Dallas added a ton of depth to their team with guys like Tim Hardaway, Evan Eschmeyer, Adrian Griffin, and Danny Manning. Hardaway and Manning will add much need experience to this young team. Shawn Bradley will need to become more of a presence to compete with some of the great post players in the West. Juwan Howard should be more effective than last year since he has a half year of experience with this team. Dallas can make a run to the Western Conference Finals, but they will have a hard time matching up with Los Angeles or San Antonio.
