Paris Hilton: The Simple Life Moves Ahead

Hilton announced Monday that the show will go on. "We’re shooting November 1," said Hilton. She added, "All the networks are fighting over it." Hilton and her ex-best friend, Nicole Richie, are under contract. Twentieth Century Fox Television and Bunim-Murray Productions, who jointly produce the reality series, are optimistic about the survival of The Simple Life. Twentieth Century Fox said, "We believe this series starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie is still a dynamic and valuable franchise. We hope to be able to announce a new network partner in the coming days." Bunim-Murray added, "We’re very excited about the creative plans for the next group of episodes, and are confident this situation will be remedied quickly."

Since Hilton and Richie have ended their friendship there is some question as to how they will film the show. Sources say producers had hoped to focus on a "bridal theme" with both girls engaged, the show could focus on Hilton preparing for her wedding to Paris Latsis and Richie’s upcoming nuptials with Adam Goldstein, but Hilton called off her engagement earlier this month. Another option producers had tossed around was having the girl’s complete specific tasks separately. Another idea was to have season four focus on a reconciliation between Hilton and Richie.

Did hell freeze over? Any kind of reconciliation is probably not in the cards anytime soon. The feud between the girls has escalated to such a point that they may never be friends again. There has never been any official reason given as to the problem, just a lot of speculation. Said Hilton, "It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about that." Such drama!
