Stevie Wonder Sued by Ex-Girlfriend, Angela McAfee
Stevie Wonder’s ex-girlfriend, Angela McAfee, filed a $30 million palimony suit on October 4th in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
McAfee claims Wonder, a.k.a. Steveland Morris, promised to financially support her for life even if the couple parted ways. She also claims that the singer gave her herpes, which his sources vehemently deny. Wonder’s attorney says the singer does not have herpes. McAfee served as Wonder’s Wardrobe Assistant from 1986-1990 and says he made numerous advances towards her. In 1996, she quit her job and moved into the singer’s mansion after he stated that "God had told him Angela was his wife."
McAfee says that she and Wonder had an oral agreement that he would be the sole source of financial income and that she would be a homemaker. The suit also states that in the event that the couple broke up he would pay for her clothing, household needs, medical, 24-hour security service and any other expenses incurred. Wonder’s attorney, Laura Wasser, states that there was no contract-oral or written.
The couple broke up in early February when Wonder moved out. It seems as if McAfee is having a hard time accepting the turn of events. In September, Wonder and second wife, Karen Millard-Morris, welcomed a baby boy into the world. Maybe next time McAfee will get things in writing and save herself the humiliation of airing her dirty laundry in public. If Stevie Wonder didn’t give her herpes…it leaves me wondering just who did?
