The seventh G-20 meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors ended here today "successfully" with a decision to hold the next session in Australia.

"The meeting was fully successful" Chinese Finance Minister and host of the meeting, Jin Renqing told reporters at a press conference at the end of two days of talks here.

The meeting, inaugurated by Chinese President Hu Jintao, yesterday saw in-camera talks between finance ministers and Central Bank Governors from around the world on the state of the global economy and suggest remedies to the problems confronting them.

India was represented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram. Reserve Bank of India Governor Y V Reddy is also participating. Chidamabaram is expected to meet with a number of his foreign counterparts, including Chinese Finance Minister, Jin Renqing.

Since its founding in 1999, the G-20 gathering has become a key forum to address international economic matters. China, which is hosted the event for the first time, at Xianghe, a picturesque city, 52 km outside Beijing.

The G-20 meeting theme this year is `enhancing global cooperation and ensuring balanced and orderly development.

The meeting had five topics: the reform of Breton Woods Institutions; the development of financing; the innovation of development concept; senilisation and immigration; the current global and regional economy and development.
