James Gandolfini’s Messy Divorce
James and Marcy Gandolfini’s divorce is turning messy with each party throwing insults and shocking accusations at each other.
James Gandolfini’s estranged wife, Marcy, is claiming that the star is a "cocaine-abusing cheat" and he claims she is an "emotionally unstable" mess. The couple has been married for three years and has a three-year old son – Michael. They have recently become embroiled in a nasty game of he-said, she-said. Is Gandolfini living the life of Tony Soprano or is Marcy an unstable mother and wife?
Gandolfini charges that Marcy has threatened suicide on numerous occasions and has even hinted that she may hurt their son. The Sopranos star claims that any time there was turmoil in the marriage she said she would kill herself. He likened it to "emotional blackmail." Gandolfini also alleges that his wife is being manipulated by a psychiatrist she has been a patient of since 1997. He says that Marcy and the psychiatrist are very close. In March, Gandolfini filed divorce papers charging Marcy with "cruel and inhuman treatment."
Marcy charges that Gandolfini is a serial adulterer with a penchant for alcohol, cocaine and other women. She alleges that Gandolfini secretly sought treatment for drug and alcohol abuse at the New Directions rehabilitation center in April 2000. She says that he did not complete the program and returned home only to start using drugs again. Marcy has said that Gandolfini has used cocaine with some of his Sopranos co-stars. Maybe Marcy is just bitter because Gandolfini has been seeing production assistant Lora Somoza and now wants a divorce. Maybe her allegations are true. Who knows? Most likely, it will be their young son that will suffer the most from the debacle.
