Courtney Love’s Meltdown

Rocker/actress Courtney Love slipped back into some of her old habits, recently being arrested for drug possession.
What does the future hold for Courtney Love? If she isn’t careful, not much! Seems Hollywood’s party queen has taken a turn for the worse. Earlier this month, Love was arrested and charged with "being under the influence of a controlled substance." Love was arrested after police were called to a house in West Hollywood at 2:30 a.m. on October 2. Love had "clawed" through two screens and smashed the windowpanes at the home of her boyfriend, music producer Jim Barber, who she has been dating since 1999. Barber declined to press charges and Love was released by 5:30 a.m.

Paramedics were called less than an hour later by an unidentified caller from Love’s home. She was rushed to the hospital after she overdosed. There has been no official comment from her rep. She had transformed herself in the late 90’s from a grungy party girl with a bad attitude into a beautiful woman nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in The People vs. Larry Flint. Her last movie role was in 2002’s Trapped. A source says, "Studios are concerned with drug abuse that jeopardizes the completion of a picture."

Friends of Love’s blame the pressure of "making her upcoming album America’s Sweetheart a hit" as the reason behind her recent drug use. The source says, "She’s been partying a lot and making a mess of herself. It’s like she has regressed back to the Courtney Love of 1991." Love’s first solo album would have been a chance for her to prove herself, but with the recent turn of events one has to wonder how this will affect her career. More importantly how will this latest lapse affect Frances bean, her 11-year old daughter with the late Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994?
