Preview - Detroit Pistons
The Pistons thought they would have a big off season, instead it turned into a big bust.
Detroit Pistons
2000 Record: (32-50), 5th in Central Division
Player Losses: Joe Smith, Mateen Cleaves, John Wallace, Jud Buechler.
Player Additions: Cliff Robinson, Rodney White, Jon Barry.
Projected Starting Five:
Center - Ben Wallace (6'9" 245 lbs.)
Forward - Corliss Williamson (6'7" 255 lbs.)
Forward - Cliff Robinson (6'10" 240 lbs.)
Guard - Jerry Stackhouse (6'6" 220 lbs.)
Guard - Chucky Atkins (5'11" 160 lbs.)
The Pistons problem again this year is if any one will help Jerry Stackhouse carry the scoring load. Cliff Robinson and rookie forward Rodney White should help. They also will need to find some to help Ben Wallace on the boards. Detroit has a lot of players that use heart and hustle, but heart and hustle without more talent won't get the Pistons very far past the 32 wins they had last year.
