Preview - Atlanta Hawks
The additon of Georgia native Shareef Abdur Rahim should make the Hawks more competitive.
Atlanta Hawks
2000 Record: (25-57), 7th in Central Division
Player Losses: Lorenzen Wright, Brevin Knight.
Player Additions: Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Emanual Davis, Jacque Vaughn, Pepe Sanchez.
Projected Starting Five:
Center - Theo Ratliff (6'10" 225 lbs.)
Forward - Shareef Abdur-Rahim (6'9" 230 lbs.)
Forward - Toni Kukoc (6'10" 230 lbs.)
Guard - Jason Terry (6'2" 175 lbs.)
Guard - Jacque Vaughn (6'1" 190 lbs.)
The Hawks made the best off season by acquiring Shareef Abdur-Rahim from the Grizzles. He will give them a consistent scoring threat and a presence on the boards. Jacque Vaughn should take over at point guard and Theo Ratliff will need to return to his great play before he was injured. The Hawks will be vastly improved, but they are still a player or two from making the playoffs.
