Questioning reality T.V. shows, such as big brother or tempation island
What do you think about reality T.V. shows such as temptation island or big brother? Some people find these shows fun and enjotable, whilst others disagree and find it cruel and unfair. What is your opinion? Would you put yourself on a little box in front of millions of people to watch you like a creature in a zoo? When watching these programmes people see the participants as just things on television, not people with real emotions. The people who go on these shows are only looking for one thing - fame, but is it really worth it? Would you want the whole world to know more about you than some of their closest friends?
Temptation island is a show within whichfour couples went onto an island. Upon arrival they were seperated and put on different sides of the island with 13 single men/women. They have to go on dates with the singles and see if they will succumb to the temptations. The couples are not allowed to communicate with each other, but can watch videos about what their partner has done on their date and have the option to leave a video message. The climax of the show is where the couples meet up at campfire. The partners confess all to each other and then decide their fate.
The rules of big brother are simple. Ten contestants are chosen and they move into a house together. No contact with the outside world is allowed and they have a weekly food budget. The contestants visit the diary room often to express their feelings about things, such as the other contestants. Discussion of nominations is strictly forbidden. They are not allowed out of the house, except for in the garden. Every two weeks the contestants have to nominate someone privately, and the people who get the most votes are put up for a public vote. The person with the most amount of votes is evicted. The person who is left at the end is the winner and they win a cash prize.
