*+* The bullies *+*

A poem about a girl killed by bullies ...
Terrorized by hatred,
Immobilized by fear
She bites her lip and whimpers
She sees them drawing near
Their fists are clenched and ready
To cause bruises that remain
The bitter tears fall down her cheek
Disguised amongst the rain
The blood drips down her forehead
As another fist strikes out
She longs for all this pain to end
Wonders ‘why’ and ‘how’
She lies upon the dirty floor
Fails to see her worth
Was it just now that hate arose?
Or was it since her birth?
The world is fading slowly
Draining her of life
Despite her desperate cries for help
She knows that its goodbye
She longs for all the pain to stop
Doesn’t want to die
But as the bullies stand and laugh
Her last breath is ‘why?’
