Olivier Dacourt is set to complete his transfer from Leeds to Roma today after undergoing a medical test in the Italian capital.

He will become the second Leeds midfielder to leave the club this week following Lee Bowyer's switch to West Ham United.

The 28-year-old arrived in Rome late last night after the two clubs agreed terms on a deal. "There is an agreement and he is having the medical check-up, all that are missing now are the formalities," a spokeswoman for Roma said.

Dacourt is expected to sign a contract later today and is likely be unveiled to the press at Roma's training ground tomorrow.

Leeds said on their official website that Dacourt would move to the Olympic stadium on loan until the end of this season after which Roma had the option to make the move permanent for an agreed fee.

Dacourt joined Leeds in May 2000 from French club RC Lens having earlier played in the Premiership for Everton.

He could make his Serie A debut in Sunday's game against Chievo Verona.
