Ashton Kutcher & Brittany Murphy: Engaged?

Murphy, who was last linked with her last big screen co-star Marshall Mathers aka Eminem, has been seen around town sporting two new accessories – Kutcher and a 10-carat (is that all?) diamond engagement ring. The couple met more than a year ago on the Just Married set, but did not become a public item until October. From that point on, they were seen locking lips all over town.

Reportedly when the two met on the set, Kutcher was otherwise spoken for and Murphy was "recently heartbroken." She won’t say by whom, but rumor has it that Eminem broke her heart when he dumped her over his cell phone. Kutcher, 24, recently brought Murphy, 25, home to meet his family. He says they gave Murphy the thumbs up. It seems that Murphy has a history of snuggling up to her co-stars of late, begging the age-old question: True love or publicity stunt?

A good way to build up movie buzz is by pairing the stars romantically in the tabloids. Makes one question whether or not it is a true-life romance or a publicity stunt contrived by the studios to hype the movie. With most holiday relationships lasting from sometime during filming to right after release, it makes one question the validity of the romance. Maybe it is just that Hollywood types are too fickle and that is the lifespan of the average Hollywood romance. Brittany struck out with Eminem, maybe Kutcher will be the one…well…for a little bit anyway…
