The Bachelorette Returns

Another season of The Bachelorette starts next week starring Jen Scheft, the winner of Andrew Firestone’s The Bachelor.
We first met Scheft, 28, when she charmed America and Andrew Firestone. He proposed to the Ohio native during the Spring 2003 third installment of The Bachelor. The romance blossomed for the next few months and then to the shock of fans they split. Jen says of the break-up, "We were traveling so much for the winery, I got lost in it all. I like to be settled. When we were living in San Francisco, we weren’t there for more than 30 days of the six months we were together. There was really a lifestyle difference."

After her romance with Firestone ended, Jen reportedly romanced another reality TV star, The Apprentice winner Bill Rancic, but she decided he was "too similar" to Andrew and called off the relationship before it went anywhere serious. Now she is back in the limelight and looking for love. The first bachelorette, Trista Rehn, found true love with Colorado firefighter Ryan Sutter. Trista and Ryan just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. Says Scheft, "This show helped Trista find the man of her dreams and now it’s my hope to find the one man with whom I can spend the rest of my life." Meredith Phillips, the second bachelorette, also found true love with Ian McKee. The two are currently living together and planning a wedding. So maybe there is hope for Scheft.

This season on The Bachelorette will feature a few dramatic changes. First, instead of the sunny beaches of California as a backdrop for love the romancing will take place on the busy streets of New York City. Also, instead of going in with a blind eye, Scheft was part of the casting crew and helped to cast her 25 would-be suitors. Scheft says, "I’ll know each of them or have talked to them or seen them on tape before the show starts." Hopefully bachelorette number three hits a homerun in the love department.
