Along with proteins, soybeans also provide a good quantity of fatty acids, which are basic building blocks of human body, lecithin, folic acid, iron, calcium, magnesium, thiamin, riboflavin, some very essential fibers which are found very rarely in any other vegetable/grain source.

According to one study, when we eat animal meat, the calcium in our body goes on decreasing because of the nature of meat, and the situation called osteoporosis may occur, if we replace the animal meat with soybeans, we would get nearly same amount of protein from it and our body would loose less amount of calcium as compared to the loss of calcium on eating animal meat. Protein is considered one of the most fundamental building blocks of human body/system; it also helps in prevention of various heart diseases and is also effective against some type of cancers. Soybean contains various sub-types of isoflavone, a type of isoflavone in soybean is found to be effective against cancer cells and does not allow them grow.

People who want to build muscles, should try taking a good diet (please do consult your physician before you start on soybeans as they provide protein in very large amount) containing soy-food. Now-a-days, there are many products available in market which are prepared by enhancing various qualities of Soybean. Soy-Milk, Soy-Powder, and Processed-Soy (which can be directly used in many dishes) etc. are some examples. These products are prepared by processing soybeans to make them rich in chemical compositions in order to give best results. In India, about 50 to 100 grams of soybeans are added to 1 Kg of wheat which is then used to make Chapattis; this combination is believed to provide the necessary daily food supplement.
