Scarlett Johansson's success mantra is NYC!

Scarlett Johansson credits her phenomenal career ascent to her home town, New York City, and insists that, had she grown up anywhere else, she would never have tasted success in such a short span of time.

"I live and breathe New York. I am who I am partly because of the way I was raised, and partly because I was raised here," the 21-year-old ' Lost In Translation' star said in an exclusive interview.

Johansson also believes that being a New Yorker has given her freedom to express her feelings and thoughts at quite an early age, which has tremendously helped in developing her personality.

"My parents told me and all my siblings that it was fine to express ourselves and whatever we were feeling and thinking, and that's a very New York mentality. There's a comfortable-in-your-own-skin quality that New York puts in you," she added.
