Annie

A poem for my dog Annie.
Annie
I look into her soft brown eyes,
stroking her furry muzzle

She looks at me through trusting eyes,
then begins to nuzzle

Gentle hands through coarse black hair,
sighs of satisfaction

She falls asleep at my feet,
love's reaction

What is this love between us?
It's better left unsaid.

But she gives her love so freely,
it makes me yearn for more

Lying here with her near,
she's quintessential joy_Annie
