Kim Delaney Arrested
Actress Kim Delaney, now starring in ABC’s Philly, was arrested at her Malibu home on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
It is unusual for someone to be arrested for driving while intoxicated after that person has arrived at their home. However, Kim Delaney has a concerned motorist to thank for her arrest over the weekend. Authorities reported on Sunday that Kim Delaney was arrested at her Malibu home at 7:50 PM on Saturday evening after a motorist called 911 to report Delaney’s erratic driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. The motorist followed Delaney to her home where they were met by sheriff’s deputies. The motorist identified Delaney as the driver as she proceeded to enter her house.
Apparently, driving wasn’t the only task that proved difficult for Kim on Saturday evening, as she inadvertently set off the burglar alarm as she hurried into her house. This resulted in an even greater police presence at her home, where she was eventually taken into custody and taken to the local police station for processing.
Delaney has denied that she was under the influence of alcohol and did not submit to any tests requested by the arresting officers. She was charged with investigation of drunken driving and has been ordered to appear in court on March 27 to address the charges. Delaney was released from the police station at approximately 1 AM. It is unclear whether she was escorted home by an officer or if she had made other arrangements for her transportation home.
