Jessica Simpson Dating Game

Simpson is reportedly "desperate" to begin dating since the split, but her father Joe has allegedly told her to wait so not to destroy her image. A source close to Simpson has said that she is waiting for Lachey to be the first one to date in the public eye so she will not be blamed for the break-up. So far neither has been spotted out on anything that could even be misconstrued as a date. Maybe they are both playing the "waiting game."

Recently Simpson was out with pal Eva Mendes at Hollywood bar Chateau Marmont having some drinks and was approached by Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine. Said a source, "He came running over to Jessica and Eva, pulled up a chair and insinuated himself into their conversation." Simpson and Mendes were spotted leaving the bar shortly after. It was rumored in the past that Simpson and Levine had had a fling while still married to Lachey. During the least year or so of their marriage Simpson was romantically linked to Levine, her Dukes of Hazzard co-star Johnny Knoxville, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, and Viva La Bam’s Bam Mergera. Lachey was linked with anyone he talked to of the opposite sex.

Simpson and Lachey were married in October 2002 and were married for three-years. For the last year of their marriage they spent most of their time denying that there was anything amiss in their relationship. Daddy Simpson announced the couple’s separation the night before Thanksgiving saying in a statement: "After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways. This is a mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy."
