That try: Bob Irvine's version for BBC radio listeners

From 12 yards outside the New Zealand 25, we're going to watch as John Pullin, the England captain and Barbarian hooker today, prepares to throw the ball in. The mark of the game has already been set right at the start. This one's going to be a runner and we're going to have the thrill of our lives this afternoon.

"Towards the end of the lineout, Quinnell gets it, goes to the ground. They rip him off it. Picking it up there, Lambert gets it to Whiting, then back to Going, Going kicks downfield. Underneath it John Williams, 15 yards inside his own half. He's going to run it.

"He runs up to the 10-yard mark ... kicks it downfield into the arms of Going. Midway between the 25 and halfway, Going is caught with it and the ruck is won by New Zealand. Back it comes from Kirkpatrick, out on the right to Bryan Williams. Up to halfway he goes, kicks it down to the 25.

"It's bouncing on the 25 - a bad one for Bennett, going backwards and picking it up. Up there for him is Scown, he's got past Scown, he's coming up the middle again. He's feeding it out on the left to John Williams, taken by Bryan Williams. It's on the left again to Pullin and then further out to John Dawes, up to halfway he comes. Oh this is excellent.

"It's Tom David over on the left to Quinnell. Quinnell gives it out to Gareth Edwards. Edwards goes for the corner and Edwards has scored! Edwards the try. What a try. The crowd are going mad and that was after three minutes!
