Hundreds of people gathered at a Las Vegas church Sunday night to pray for a little girl whose name they did not know. Police are calling the girl "Jane Cordova Doe," naming her after the apartment complex near the Las Vegas Strip where her body was found. People in the community have been praying for her to be identified, and for justice to be served upon whoever left her body in the dumpster.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Abuse and Neglect department, the little girl had black, curly, shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a light blue sleeveless shirt, a white fleece jacket with red hearts on it, lavender jogging pants with yellow ties around the waist and ankles, and light pink tights. She was wrapped in a blue blanket. Authorities said the girl was 3 or 4 years old, and she died of blunt force trauma, meaning that she may have been beaten to death.

Several businesses and at least one anonymous donor have posted a $44,000 reward for any information that will help police locate the girl’s family and her killer. Pictures of the girl have been posted throughout Las Vegas—even rolling billboards that usually display female escorts wearing skimpy lingerie—have been displaying images of the little girl.

A segment on "America’s Most Wanted" gave the public the girl’s description and the limited information available. The show reported that before being dressed in the outfit she was wearing when her body was found, the child may have sustained internal injuries that led to her death. Police said they have followed possible leads to California and Mexico, but so far haven’t been able to locate the family.

Police are asking that anyone who may have information about the girl’s identity or the circumstances of her death please contact them at (702) 385-5555.
