Stolen Memories

This is written for all who have been touched by Alzheimers...
I see the smile upon your face
Memories linger then they fade
Eyes confined within palaces contained
A tiny glimpse of who you were
Wishing you didn't live so far
I try so hard to reach that place
I see the smile upon your face
Grabbing your hand I hold you near
Choking back tears I'm filled with fear
For you know not who I am
Vacant eyes are all we share...
