Sense
A poem dedicated to my friend that had passed away from breast cancer in 2003.
As I ascend the mountain
I feel the cool wind across my cheek
The scent of crisp clean enters my nostrils.
It tickles the thoughts of all things new.
The sound of PEACE enters my head;
And fulfillment rushes over my being.
The smallest creatures are all around.
I am in tune with the EARTH; she has accepted me.
As I follow the path, the long journey it takes me,
But at the end of the path I find I’ve chosen correctly.
There to meet me was the LIGHT of contentment and JOY.
JOY of none I’d never felt or breathed.
And the HEAVENS accepted me.
No more uncertain journeys,
For my SOUL is safe forever…
