January 22 Darren Gough has left Yorkshire after 15 turbulent years for "family reasons".
Darren Gough last night left Yorkshire after 15 turbulent years for "family reasons". Warwickshire and Gloucestershire will lead the scramble for his signature.

It is a well-worn phrase, but in Gough's case it is legitimate. The most ebullient England fast bowler since Fred Trueman is in the throes of divorce and, with two young children, the prospect of endless commuting to Yorkshire from his home near Milton Keynes became impossible to contemplate.

Gough has had countless ups and downs with Yorkshire, and with their new director of cricket David Byas, but the manner of his parting was cordial.
