Street Dirt

The Street Urchin...
Like a sunflower,
Devoid of the all important light,
Droops the fellows head,
Alas! How pathetic a sight.

With squalid mane, stinking being,
And limbs smeared with dirt,
Groans he in hunger,
Alas? How helpless and hurt.

"Street Urchin" he is,
"Street Dirt", he is called,
Hapless little soul,
Abused, Battered and mauled.

With every imploration,
Answered with sneer and scorn,
He roams around in agony,
With a future quite forlorn.
