Goetschl doubles up

Former World champion Renate Goetschl won her second World Cup race in two days to prove she was back to her best after a serious knee injury. The Austrian added victory in a downhill to Friday's super-G win in Cortina.
American Kirsten Clark had her best result of the season with second place, 0.29sec behind Goetschl's time of 1min 30.74sec. The result put Clark into the joint lead in the World Cup downhill standings with French Olympic champion Carole Montillet, who finished fourth.
Austrian overall World Cup champion Michaela Dorfmeister was third, in 1:31.07, to make up for Friday's disappointment when she failed to finish the super-G.
Goetschl had not won a race in nearly a year before Friday but a second place in the opening super-G on Wednesday showed she was getting back to top form.
'It has been an absolutely crazy week,' said Goetschl, 27. 'I am so happy but I am not going to put pressure on myself because I have achieved so much coming back from injury.'
Goetschl won downhill bronze at the Olympics last year, shortly before the crash in March that forced her out of action.
Yesterday's race was interrupted after the Swiss Tamara Mueller crashed badly into the safety netting. She was treated for 10 minutes before being carried down the hill on a sled.
