Two Arrested Over Killing of British Conservationist

Kenyan police have arrested two people over the murder of British filmmaker and conservationist Joan Root, police said at the weekend.

Mrs Root was shot on Friday in her home by Lake Naivasha, 55 miles west of Nairobi. The attackers broke into the 69-year-old's bedroom and killed her as she lay in bed.

Naivasha's police chief, Simon Kiragu, said that two men had been arrested and 21 others were being questioned. He said investigators wanted to find out whether she was killed in a botched robbery or assassinated by people objecting to her conservation work.
