Bud vs. Charlie Hustle

Bud Selig and Pete Rose both defied baseball's rules; however, if Selig remains in office, I believe that Rose should be reinstated.
Recent news has brought us the info that Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig accepted a three million dollar loan from a company owned by Minnesota Twins' owner Carl Pohlad.

Baseball's rules strictly prohibit team officials from lending money, either directly or indirectly, to one another.

So, recently, the question has been posed: Should Selig resign?

While most say yes, I have a different answer: Definitely.

Two years ago, Selig said that he wouldn't change the lifetime ban that former commissioner Bart Giamatti put on Pete Rose. I must ask, who did worse, Selig or Charlie Hustle?

Selig and Rose both defied baseball's rules; however, if Selig remains in office, I believe that Rose should be reinstated.

It's given, that they are two entirely separate things. But why should Selig defy the rules and stay in office, while Rose does the same, but is banned from the major and minor leagues?

If Selig decides against resigning, and does not reinstate Rose, it would just show what kind of a man he is.

Selig, of course, will probably not reinstate Rose, in which case, I call for his resignation.

Then again, is my telling him to resign gonna do anything?
