Tara Reid Collapses

American Pie actress Tara Reid collapsed after hours of drinking at a post-awards show on December 9 at the Ghost Bar in Las Vegas.
Reid, 27, was a presenter at the 2002 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on December 9. Limp Bizkit’s front man, Fred Durst, invited her to the post-awards show at Ghost Bar located on the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort. Reid and boy toy JC Chasez of *N Sync fame arrive sometime after midnight with an entourage of bodyguards and headed straight for the VIP section, where she immediately started drinking according to sources.

Sources say that Reid and Chasez were "all over each other from the moment they arrived" and were "kissing and cuddling the entire night." Sources say that after a few hours of drinking with Chasez, Durst and the band Puddle of Mudd, Reid began to "wobble on her feet" and asked for an escort to the ladies room. Apparently, Reid’s bodyguard was trying to help her to the bathroom and trying to get people out of the way when Reid became belligerent, shoving people, and demanding that the women in line for the bathroom get out of her way. Sources say that before making it to the bathroom the rail thin actress just collapsed on the floor and began crying hysterically.

Reid’s bodyguards helped her to her feet while threatening to "break any cameras" if anyone took pictures of the disheveled Reid. An eyewitness said Reid was "a mess" and when she got to her feet her "mascara was streaming down her cheeks. Her face was red and her hair was hanging in her face." Reid was then rushed into the bathroom with her entourage and reappeared 20 minutes later after having regained her composure. She then walked amid the staring and whispers back to the VIP room where she reportedly partied for a few more hours. A few weeks later, Chasez broke off the relationship saying he "didn’t want anything serious." One has to wonder if Reid’s drinking antics played any part in the decision…

Do you think fame and wealth lead many young actors into a life of excessive partying, or are certain personalities pre-disposed to these vices?
Fame and wealth are to blame
Some people are pre-disposed to abuse themselves
It’s a combination of all factors
