Spelling, 32, split from hubby Charlie Shanian, 36, in September 2005. At the time of the split her publicist said, "The couple have been living apart since the beginning of August." Shanian filed for divorce in October requesting spousal support. Days after Spelling announced her split from Shanian, McDermott and his wife Mary Jo Eustace, a Canadian TV personality, filed for divorce. The couple had been married for twelve years and have two children, five-month old Lola and seven year old Jack. Shortly after McDermott and Eustace split it was announced that he and Spelling were an item.

Spelling and McDermott met in August while filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. Both camps maintain that they did not begin a romance until after they had spit from their partners. Spelling and McDermott, who got engaged over the Christmas holiday, are planning for a summer wedding. Said Spelling, "I want a summer wedding. Or maybe spring. I think we should do it in Canada. That’s where we met, where we fell in love, and where he proposed. It’s very special to us."

Spelling and Shanian met in 2003 in Los Angeles when they co-starred in a production of his two-person play Maybe, Baby It’s You. They were married in July 2004 in an extravagant $1 million ceremony thrown by Spelling’s father, TV titan Aaron Spelling. The event took place at his estate and was attended by 400 guests. Wonder if Spelling is willing to shell out another cool $1 million for a second wedding for his daughter? A million is mere pocket change for Daddy Spelling, but does he want to risk it on the possibility of another failed marriage?
