Nicole Richie’s New Beau?

It has been reported that Richie and Steve-O have been spending some quality time together lately. According to a witness, the two were spotted hanging out Monday at Teddy’s, a Los Angeles hotspot. The witness said the couple "seemed to be enjoying each other’s company." Earlier that day, the photogs caught them together but the couple kept their distance from one another. When asked about the blossoming relationship, Richie’s rep reportedly responded with, "I’m not commenting on my client’s personal life."

Richie and Goldstein a.k.a. DJ AM announced their engagement last February after a year of dating. They announced their split in early December. No official reason was given for the broken engagement and it still is not clear as to which party wanted the split. Richie’s rep, Cindy Guagenti, released a statement saying, "They have decided to break off [the] engagement. The decision is mutual." Sources say that Richie wanted to end the engagement. A source close to Goldstein said he broke off the engagement based on a "gut feeling." Said the source, "It was just something he knew he had to do."

The friend added, "It really did come out of left field for Nicole." Sources close to the reality TV waif have said that she is absolutely "devastated" by the split and is "desperate" to win Goldstein back. Maybe she has had a change of heart after meeting Steve-O, a man who is famous for making a fool of himself on television by voluntarily harming himself. Who knows…maybe Richie needs a rebound and maybe Steve-O is just the guy to do it!
