Home sweet home?

The New Jersey Nets were supposed to have a real tough new year, because ten of their first 12 games of 2003 would be on the road and the Meadowlands had been so good to them in 2002.
The first three games of the new year went well for the New Jersey Nets. Three road wins for a team that had struggled a lot on the road.

Everything looked good and some people were talking about another Eastern Championship, with the NBA Finals being a very realistic goal since Dikembe Mutombo would be back.

However, home was not so good to the Nets.

I turned the television on Thursday night and there was a beautiful sight on the screen.

I am tired of living in New Jersey as a Boston sports fan. I cannot stand listening to the radio or reading the newspaper with thoughts of an NBA Championship coming to the Meadowlands, let alone a Super Bowl trophy coming there as well.

The Newark Star Ledger will just never give up, just like I am sure The Boston Globe will not also, however I would not mind reading that.

Anyway, the television showed a score that was music to my ears. It showed Sacramento had 96 points, while the Nets only had 58. My mom was cackling like a witch, and I went to bed looking forward to the newspaper for the following day.

By the way, the game was played in the Meadowlands.
