after reading these comments, i feel like people don't understand their own beauty.emeraldstar, you may say that because you may not feel beautiful. everyone has their own personal beauty. debby, just because you're getting older that doesn't mean that you're not beautiful.my mom turned 50 in august and she has confident.she knows she si beautiful. i'm sire you are a beautiful woman. i am 15 and my mom teaches me to always be comfortable in my own skin. |

Beauty ...I am 44 years old and still don't know what beauty is...there are too many ways to define beauty and nobody really has a true definition...but of course, I know that don't fit any of them. No matter how hard I run, how much I watch my weight, or try to do something nice with my hair ...I will never be what he wants, what he needs, what he deserves...there have been times I have asked myself why he evern married me if he is going to compare me to the women of his past. He has never forgotten the one that got away. I was watching Mama Mia and he commented on his "Grace"...she was beautiful, she looked just like Meryl Streep in that movie. I will never, in a million years match that beauty, or that of Catherine Zeta Jones, Drew Berrymore, or Penelope Cruz...Why do I try?...because I love him and want to be something he is willing to look at, to care for, to grow old with, to love, and to one day say to me...You are beautiful. |

couple of issues here. adrenaline is used for the "fight or flight" in nature. i think the hormone she is thinking of is serotonin. also, it is not made in the brain, but the eyelets of lagerhans (kidneys). because this author hasnt got a basic understanding of biology and made up all the science stuff, how can you beleive or credit what she is goiing on about for her definition of beauty. dont let this mug tell you if youre beautiful. |

I think it all depends on who is interviewing, what they've learned and personal experience, it is also brought on by upbringing and genetics..
Of course it is behavior...or... what you show in your behavior.
It cannot be summed up so easily and science is bull in this subject. Let's say a sweet kind mattered interviewer decided to interview in a nice room next to a calm relaxing waterfall and with a nice scenic window view compared to a test laboratory? Perhaps answers would change due to atmosphere and the person interviewing, to who they were dating to what they wee taught about beauty... What if I was obese and then became petite and all of a sudden I was stunning to people? There are many things...Some people like height. Some like bodies and some prefer faces... |

There is a film called "Beauty: In the Eyes of the Beheld" which talks about what it is like to be a beautiful woman. It found that the definition of beauty varied widely and that being beautiful is nice, but not all that it is cracked up to be. Very enlightening! |
