Potential cutomers need to be aware of numerous "gotchas" that DirecTV does. If you happen to either get a defective receiver or if your receiver goes out, as soon as you replace it, it automatically enters you into a new 2 year contract. This even includes ordering a part for your receiver as according to DirecTV, this is an "upgrade". If you are moving to a community or apt that doesn't allow for a satellite dish - that doesn't qualify to get out of the 2 year agreement and you will be responsible for the $400+ fee - but don't worry - direcTV will automatically take that out of your account. Signing up for DirecTV authorizes them to access your bank account and credit cards allowing them to deduct any amount they want from it when you terminate or are late on payments.Customer Service is non-existent at DirecTV. Do a search for DirecTV reviews before you sign up with them - the complaints are in the thousands. |

DirecTV's latest promotional offering is incredibly deceiving. They advertise that customers will get 5 months of premier programming for FREE, but fail to mention that the offer is contingent upon purchasing NFL Sunday Ticket for a year (that's $300!) DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ADVERTISEMENT! DirecTV is trying to lure new customers through misinformation and illegible text. |

this isn't a review, it's a compilation of basic information on their services. you wasted your time and mine. also, what is the date on it? it seems very old but nobody would know since you didn't date it... what, you think their services never change? |

I have had dish for 6 months now and have gone thru two receivers, their service is equally bad. I am so unhappy with the fact that I pay for tv and I have no tv to watch again...and again...this time I must wait a week to have someone come out to look. Fix is what I want. It will cost me the next year and a half of my life to finish out this contract or I have to pay 1600.00 dollars. I can't afford to pay them off so I am again without tv. Do not use this company for any reason or you too will be sorry. |

Dish network waht a joke ! they wil make you sign the 24 month contract and then screw you.I recently joined the thieves and they decided to not keep my favourite channel as it gotten expensive for them( soccer channel/GOL TV). As of the contract they are not responsible for making any refund or offering any other programming basicaly they just don`t care .please tell me who rates these people ? And ask them to pretend they are Dish network customers and tey are having some kind of problem..Bleive me they will change their mind about these people. they do not desrve any respect they will rub you blind..i even e-mailed the so called executive customer sevice twice but all in vain. |

The company names an deals don't mean a hoot.. I once had Dish, and now have Direct. They are both the same when it comes to viewing programs. Every minute or two, at least three interruptions occur with breaking up of picture and sound, loss of picture and sound, and even a black screen. I'll get rid of this dish business as fast as I can. What a waste. |

I have cancelled my programming with directv several months ago,but keep getting a bill from them for five dollars. each month i have to spend money on phone calls letting them know i don't owe them. then yesterday i get a bill for 54.89, they did show a credit for 3.17 whatever that was for , and they tell me that my bill was turned over to a collections. I will tell everyone what I think of directv. |

Before you switch over to DIRECT TV, know that DTV has about 100 LESS stations to choose from. Also, my bill with them has risen twice in the two years since I beamed in. AND..................guess where their customer service eminates? |

I think we need a few more providers for satellite TV. |

This is to complain about the worst customer service experience I've ever had.
I don't think DISH NETWORK customer service representatives have the slightest clue of what 'customer service' is all about. 'Julia' the person I talked to was the most impolite and rude person to talk to and had no clue of what I was asking her. I couldn't believe my ears she said 'don't you understand English'! with herself sitting in some off shore customer service center.
This is so furstating and I do not plan to let this episode pass just like that. This email will show up in as many customer review sites as possible, describing the great customer service dish network provides. And I definetly plan to contact the local news channels here to talk about this. We just upgraded to high definition (HD) package a week ago and after being ripped of 160$ today when the guy comes to intall the thing, we find out that dish network does not broadcast local channel in HD! Though otherwise local channels are broadcasted in HD. And your competitor 'Direct TV' does broadcast local channels in HD.
And as per 'Julia' its very 'obvious' for cutomers to know that dish network does not provide local channels in HD. And dish network has no responsiblity of telling the customers that this is the case. We didn't plan to keep the free HD channels we are getting right now and had only upgraded to HD package and reciever for the local channels. So in nut shell we are down 160$ and didn't get anything in return! What a scam and sad part is as per your representaive we are reponsible for it.
We would have forgotten about the 160$ had your people been informative enough and let us know when does dish network plan to broadcast these channels in HD, if at all it doesn't. Or we wouldn't have let this money go down the drain had your people let us know that local channels wouldn't show up as HD in the first place.
I hate to be disrespectfull, but because this is what I got got from you, this is all I can give back.

If you are even THINKING about purchasing the Secret Satellite TV on PC, THINK AGAIN and DON'T DO IT. Everything you will be agreeing to by purchasing this product could make you bankrupt in less than 2 seconds. |

It should also be noted that Dish does not carry LOGO (even as of October 2007), while Direct TV does. |

Well I Strongly Suggest that Any Potential Customer of Dish Network search "dish network customer complaints" (comments) then start browsing Before signing up, As always Best way to review a Company is by what past Customers Experiances have been with That Company, I Feel this is a Wise Suggestion. |

Honestly, just judging from the dead dishes in the trash piles around my neighborhood, it seems Dish is a pyramid scheme and they're gonna run out of customers who don't know how bad they are soon. |

I had dish TV and Direct TV prior. I now have Comcast, and am much happier. Even customer service is easier. It took me over an hour just to cancel service with Dish TV, between being on hold and being transferred to someone else. As far as reception, I lost service every time a cloud floated by, several times a day for several minutes at a time. Never go back. |

We currently have dish network programming and have been satisfied with it until about 2 weeks ago. At that time, Mountainwest Conference football games were changed to mtn. and, as of today, 9/11/06, dish network has refused to broadcast these college games. We have tried to contact customer service by telephone, but were unable to receive any satisfactory answers. We have considered changing our programming, and this may be the answer because a local provider does offer mtn. We would ask that you consider including this channel in your programming particularly for the mountain west, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, etc. There are BYU, University of Utah, University of Wyoming, Colorado State University, UNLV in Las Vegas, Air Force Academy fans who would appreciate being able to view the games on television. Thank you. |
