It's hilarious that some guy who once had heartburn thinks he knows more than a doctor about this. "Contrary to what the medical community would have us believe." -- ha ha ha. Please. And this writer has credibility ... how? Oh, that's right. He's credible because he's not in the "medical community" (i.e. doesn't have an MD) and believes "meditation" (cough, cough) is a key to overcoming GERD, which is, by definition ... a disease. Dumbass. |

I have acid reflux too,I was taking Priloc and doing well, then all h--- broke loose...my Dr put me on Zoloft which gave me TERRIBLE heartburn.Since then I've been worse, I weaned myself off that Rx, but still have the AR.I now take Prevacid and was getting better, but today had terrible acid again.I've met more people who said that a Rx med had caused their AR more then anything,I can believe it! I was told vinegar & honey is good for AR.Anyone out there that has done this? |

Thanks for the info. However I feel mentioning that reflux is not a 'condition' is incorrect and almost downplaying the seriousness of the problem. At times I can have reactions by simply drinking a glass of water or some salad, but then at other times have the most spicy of foods and not have a gurgle. |

I find your article on foods that can be helpful for a person who has GERD interesting. However may I point out an error in the recipe under "Lemon chive salad dressing." You state that you "Use heart of Romaine, Boston or Bipp lettuce." The word "Bipp" should read "Bibb."

One thing I wanted to make people aware of: Acid reflux can cause erosion of enamel on teeth. Similar to Bulimia, it destroys the the backs of the teeth. So one with Acid Reflux, should see the dentist regularly. |
