Animal Lover Hi there,

We have lived in Uganda, East Africa, for the past two years. In this time we have rescued 18 kittens, three puppies, three goats and a whole cage full of chameleons.

The SPCA here are underfunded and have only recently acquired a small compound with about four staff members and one Ugandan vet. The cages are roughly built from wood, no adequate shelter and finding medicine is a huge and expensive problem.

We help out by taking in animals, paying for their vaccinations, spaying/neutering them and then trying to rehome them. So far we have had to keep two goats, three cats and one dog, as there is a lack of people who can afford to take care of animals.

This is a cry for help. Anyone who can possibly donate the smallest amount will make a huge difference. Africa is not a pet friendly continent, with unemployment and hunger being a daily struggle, pets are not high on the list of things to feed and blantant cruelty is something we see every day. Children beating puppies to death as a game or throwing kittens under the wheels of oncoming traffic are things that we have witnessed ourselves.

Even one neutering kit or one person who volunteers for a day will make a difference here.

If there is anyone out there who can possibly help in anyway, I am sure the SPCA in Uganda will be most grateful.
