What Wedding DJs Wish You Knew About Choosing One

Couples pore endlessly over the venue, the flowers, the caterers. But when it's time to choose a DJ, they shop like they're walking down the aisle at Kmart instead of preparing for their wedding. Why does your average couple shop by price instead of professionalism when it comes to this one item in their budget?

Brandon Steward I wish that most poeple who were planning their wedding will read this and take this in consideration. I will run into Brides who want all the discounts and still want you to work for free. To me that is not fair, I tell them that I have to work on my own time to plan all their music and most of all I have spent over $80,000.00 in music and over $50,000.00 in DJ gear, high end lighting and video gear. I'm from the Dallas Fort Worth Texas Area. There is so much to do down here. I tell my clients that I can provide them the best DJ service better than your average mobile DJ. I had one bride ask me if I can discount a deal for her. It was for 4 hours and I quoted her $600.00 and she advised that she spent over $12,000.00 dallars so far for the reception. I was going to provide high end lighting and a sound system that was going to fill the room just right for 400 people. Well she ended up going with another DJ who charged $100.00 less and he ended up showing up 1 hour late as well for getting the music selection for the bride. If you are a bride looking for a DJ, please get a good one. A DJ is there to set the moment, and a life time memory. 4/3/2008

Disappointed I could not agree more. We saved some money on a DJ, Sensational Sounds in Smithtown, New York, and they were terrible. Songs were skipping. Multiple songs were played twice including the big dance songs. 8/1/2006
