R. Jonker. RSA My parents had one and I am on my second round of Danes. My previous Danes both reached 12 years old. Rotten spoiled. Slept in my room on their own mattress etc. It is obvious the writer of this article is a Dane man himself. Agree with every word he say. They are fantastic family dogs. Unfortunately some people do not understand that these dogs want to be by your side ALL the time when you are home. The almost go into a frenzy when you get home and you don't let them in immediately. I will never have another kind of dog again. They are indeed GENTLE GIANTS.
