The New Designer Dogs

We have all heard of 'designer dogs'. The Puggles, Malt-A-Poos and Chorkies have been favored by celebrities because they are expensive, trendy and very cute. Many of these hybrid dogs have wardrobes that we can only dream about.

Vickie I had a peke a poo i lost just this week to a car..... I had her for 5 years. I am currently looking for a new Peke A Poo. I will never own a different breed. Her mother was a pek and father was a poodle. both pure bread. The best dog I EVER had. 7/15/2006
Katie I went to the breeder to "look" at her Maltese...I left with two "pocket pups"...a "brother and sister"...I was told they were a new "designer" breed..cross-breeding a champion Maltese and a champion Pekingnese...hence they were called "Peke-a-Malts"....after spending $1700.00 and a few weeks I soon discovered that the white pup had alpha tendencies and was very agressive toward his human....the black one was literally l/2 her brother's size in only a few weeks...now after extensive "de-alphasizing" (lol) the pocket pups are 18 and 10 lbs...dominant and passive personalities...two totally different coats, sizes, temperments...(I don't even think that this "reputable" breeder told me the truth about them being from the same litter....BUT......even though I must sell my vacation condo because they are not welcome there and I can't even "sneak" them in due to their size now........Bonnie & Clyde are two of the most loyal, funny, loving animals I have ever had and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!!!!! We are a bit "too close"..since Clyde suffers from separation anxiety when I try to get away for a couple of days..as was just the case..after 4 days....he excessively licked his back until his hair fell out and an open sore erupted.....Momma and vet took care and he is now back to "normal" and .....they both love to "dress up" and go shopping in their stroller.....!!!!! 3/30/2006
me i have a peek a poo (peke a poo) and she is amazing. i will never own another full bred dog. i have the best of two different worlds. 3/9/2006
