Mark Townsend Baha'i is not an artificial eclectic synthesis; it is an entirely new Revelation ,built on the Revelations of the past, just as Jesus came from a Jewish matrix. This is the age when the prophecies about worshipping one God is unity will be fulfilled. Compare it to the ful moon after a series of lesser phases, --the light is nevertheless the same. By what proof do we accept previous revelations? By the Word. Baha'u'llah revealed this:

"That which the Lord hath ordained as the sovereign remedy and mightiest instrument for the healing of all the world is the union of all its peoples in one universal Cause, one common Faith. This can in no wise be achieved except through the power of a skilled, an all-powerful and inspired Physician. This, verily, is the truth, and all else naught but error."
"The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established. This unity can never be achieved so long as the counsels which the Pen of the Most High hath revealed are suffered to pass unheeded."

Mark Townsend It does not require perfect conditions, but lamentably defective ones. Whatever God wills will be. "Whosoever desireth, let him turn aside from this counsel, and whosoever desireth, let him choose the path to his Lord." The World Order already exists in Baha'i Administration. It will midwife the Most Great Peace. But in the meantime, because of world crises, the nations of the world will formulate the Lesser Peace, global approaches to global problems and cessation of war. We could have avoided this a long time ago, if the kings and rulers had listened. As it is, The League of Nations was the first crawling of a new being that will learn to walk and run. 4/25/2009

Trevor Kamal I just want to make a couple of corrections. The Baha'i Faith is no more an offshoot of Islam than Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism but most people wouldn't describe Christianity that way.

Also, the term "Bahai'ism" seems a bit odd to me. That would be like calling Christianity "Christism".

To the person who wrote:

"the point of a religion should be to bring one closer to the Lord, not to form a governemental/soceital system in which to rule."

Wouldn't you agree that the "purpose" of religion is to learn about what God wants us to do? I'm pretty sure that includes getting closer to Him as well as learning to stop killing each other and live together in unity. The term "rule" doesn't really have anything to do with the type of unity Baha'is are talking about.

Anon. i think this is terrible. the point of a religion should be to bring one closer to the Lord, not to form a governemental/soceital system in which to rule... it sounds like Theospophy but tailored to a non-western cultural area. ick!!! 5/9/2006
s.K.Puri yes a post graduate level religion. Christianity and islam may qualify to be secondary-school level. Hinduism is not a religion at all. It is just a culture. 4/26/2006
