We have taken our GSD 8 months old to a training class. He has mouthed the members of the family but is often walked and I have seen him interact with strangers which he is very friendly to. Thor snipped at the trainer and she is making a big deal of it. She had another strange woman in the class offer him food to see if he would bite. She wants us to get a muzzle for him for the next week.
The classroom is rather small and there were probably seven other dogs and 12 people in the room. Should we get the muzzle and continue or find another class.? |

I named my German Shepherd, Danger, which i thought was a fine name until I lost him once, and I was the cause of a neighborhood scare. Imagine a 16-yr old running around her neighborhood yelling Danger! Danger! Where are you?! My neighbors actually called the cops. thinking back now it was kind of funny... |

Mary you should consider joining a training class.
how old is your dog?
if u can teach it the words "no" "come" "ok" you should consider that enough
those are the base to more training activities.
teach sit by taking a biscuit and keepin it infront of her/his nose and movin it upwards...if the dog makes any sitting gestures,say "sit" and when it does give it the biscuit.
let it associate the word "sit" with that action |
