It has been reported that socialite Paris Hilton announced that she wanted to be friends again with her ex-best friend Nicole Richie.

MIALANA A source said that Hilton made the announcement at a friend’s Christmas party. She reportedly climbed on stage during the party and revealed that she sympathizes with Nicole since her split from fiancé Adam Goldstein. Said Hilton, "I’m really sorry to hear about Nic’s engagement I went through the same thing. With Christmas coming up, I realize I miss her and want to get in touch again." Aww…isn’t that sweet? The question remains; does Richie want to be friends with Hilton again?

The two had a falling out last January and have been feuding ever since. Their rift even reportedly caused FOX to drop their hit show The Simple Life from the line up. No worries, the fourth installment will air on E! Entertainment Television. Since their falling out, Hilton has since moved Kimberly Stewart up to the best friend position while Richie spent the past year talking about her upcoming nuptials to Goldstein a.k.a. DJ AM. The two called off their engagement last week, giving no official reason for the split.

Sources claim that Richie played Hilton’s sex tape for friends angering Hilton. Shortly after their rift, Hilton said, "It’s not big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. I will not go into details of what happened. All I will say is that Nicole knows what she did and that’s all I am ever going to say about it." Richie denied reports that she showed the video and said that they had merely "grown apart."
