I was also scamed but in Rhode Island. My whole family was happy we were buying are own home. At least thats what we thought. It sounded great rent to own for one year this man told my husband and I we can do anything to the house, we were going to add 2 bedrooms,a full bathroom and a playroom in the basement. This man clamed he owned 125 houses in RI. Lights went off when he had me sign my husbands name on the lease along with mine. I couldn't read the lease because he said he was running late for a closing. The whole lease was wrong the price, how many people were going to live there. It was a month to month no where did it say what this man told us. I called him on his cell phone that is the only number he has for this company and a P.O.Box. I told him I was concerned about the whole lease. I did the research on him and the company that does not excist. This man has had over 25 company names all revocked and fictisious names. I call him the CON Man. We gave him $4000.00 and come to find out he owns 0 houses not even his own it's in his wifes name. I spoke to the real owner and he told me the the man I'm dealing with is leasing to own I say how can this be. Corrporations told me don't do bussiness with this man. We showed up a his front door to speek with him (he clamed he was to busy to meet with us) He was yelling how did you find out my address I told him my brother inlaw is a police officer he turned white. He told us he wants us out of his house we told him thats why we are here we want our money back and you keep blowing us off. I told him you are a scam artisit and no good. To make a long story short we lived in the house for a little over 10 days We did not move everything in thank goodness and then we moved out. He said he was sending us an eviction notice certified and then he would look at the place an charge us $50 a day and give us the rest of our money. He is slick he kept $900.00 of our hard earned money and gave us the rest. I reported him to the police hopefully they can stop him. It's funny to see how he lives beautiful house, 2 Mercedes both 2006 on the expence of other people. Also he told us he can have 1000 corparation and we our idiots I told him he is the con man and we can't be idiots because we did our researsh so who is the idiot. |
