dave Honestly, I sometimes think it's the parents fault. They complain and scream at their child for playing the game, and eventually the kid can't take the stress. 7/24/2009
The Voice The parents are stupid for suing Blizzard... Its not Blizz's fault the kid was an addict, or that he killed himself... I'm pretty sure that was his decision. They should have kept him more supervised and limited his WoW play time... Blizzard DOES offer a parental time control option for every World of Warcraft account. I think it was the parents' fault for not paying close enough attention to their child. 4/14/2009
Tim Well, truth is it's not Blizz's fault...because if that kids parents didn't see him for 36 hours didn't they get worried and look for there child ?

But this game is really addictive. I play this game a lot and i think i'm addicted to the game, but i never thought about killing my self...
That asian kid probably had some problems in his head or something... (Who ever plays this game PLEASE stop it's better for you trust me)

Reznor Why blame anyone?Makes me laugh how some of you can say its this or its that, how do you know were you there?People who blame the parents are sick in the head, you mean to tell me your a bad parent if you don't go up to ya kids bedroom & say stop playing that game coz your gonna die if you carry on?Its stupid! No games can kill people unless you have a severe case of epilepsy & play for days!As usual though lots of people are looking for someone to blame rather than say this is a tradgic thing lets grieve, stick together & move on! 8/11/2008
joe My brother died from WOW....he played for 2 weeks straight no food, no sleep ....... 4/9/2008
Jack I was addicted to warcraft and i played nonstop for hours and it might have a resembelence to wow i quit just a week ago 3/26/2008
peoplearestupid anyone who thinks this is the companys fault is a moron.....mcdonalds doesnt make you fat, you getting shocked by showering with a hair dryer, and video games dont kill people.....people make bad choices and thats that

Orangebudge right man, Its not blizzards fault, Its everyones fault. from the person who told him its a good game to the parents to the makers of the game, everyone did a wrong in that kids life and committed to his death. and u were right. world of warcraft isnt the reason of his death, its the stuff thats going on in his mind, and especially the stuff thats going on in his life that can result in commiting suicide or even going on a killing rampage.

A Concerned Mom I am in total agreement to people who have difficulty dealing with reality or interacting with people are two possible signs of a mental health disease. PLEASE be aware of this, and if your child is using WOW computer game they are in the mist of withdrawing from friends and family. Intervene NOW before it's TOO LATE. SEEK professional medical advice, REMOVE the computer from your home, and/or do SOMETHING! It just might SAVE your CHILD'S life. 12/29/2007
Chad Winston Saying that he was using WoW to withdraw from friends is dumb because WoW, if anything, can give you a community. This would actually help those who don't have social skills. Parents need to realize that video games are not the cause of their children's problems. 12/10/2007
Ruthey Addiction to such games is very similar to a gambling addiction, which is medically recognized. 10/22/2007
sergio well i have a addicting problem to i have been playing for 6 months know im felling all scared and my hands are shcaking dont know why but im staoping know i have been non wow active for a week im going for a year and hopefully i can get over this addiction 9/8/2007
igskycom WOW is really a huge game, you must pay much time on it, and at the sametime you should pay for it.
if you want to find some of these website ,there are some. hope it is useful.

nick i play violent video games all the time u dont see me killin my self or any1 else and ive played WoW it doesnt make u want to kill urself he did it of his own accourd 8/6/2007
Cander Pushing the blame onto a software development company for your family's problems. Very Responsible. This action shows the quality of the decisions the parents made in raising this child. Way to live up the possibility that perhaps you made some mistakes raising your child. Way to go. 6/19/2007
gamer Most parents are paranoid about their kids and mothers especialy because they dont like video games and dont care about them. Let kids do what they want but they shouldn't destroy themselves still 6/16/2007
you The reason people play it so much is because nothing else is really fun. IT IS NOT AN ADDICTION, IT IS JUST VERY FUN AND ENTERTAINING AND CAN OCCUPY YOU! If i had something more fun to do, and I was playing WoW, i'd do the more fun thing. 6/16/2007
WoW This is stupid. Only people without a strong mental structure such as the impressional kids who play GTA and then shoot cops are affected. 6/16/2007
cocpa i like it 5/30/2007
Joey M well as a hardcore gemmer myself i play many hours on video games, but i tell this to every one. GAMES DO NOT MAKE YOU OR ANY ONE ELSE KILL PEOPLE!! THOSE PEOPLE DECIDED OF THEIR OWN WILL TO COMMIT THOSE CRIMES, parents have become to relaxed on disipling children with viedo games and other electronic devices and im a teenager and my parents have never restricted me iv always chosen when to play and how long to play and i lead a "normal" life so the fact that these parents are sueing blizzard is just stupid becasue it might of been the parents fault for leting their kid play the game so much and not notice the signs and posibly prevented this 5/17/2007
Callum world of warcraft is not the thing that is causing this its the people who play it. You have got to realise that there is a real world out there im not saying stop playing WoW just dont spend all of ur time on it take some time off 5/9/2007
Herb Grow some balls and tell your kid he/she can't play the game anymore. It's all the parents fault. Turn off the computer, disconect the internet, put a password on it and keep it in your room. 4/23/2007
James he probably decided to kill himself anyway so he wanted to have some kick --- fun before he did it and if you wanted to comit suicide you would want to have some fun before doing it and in his case say goodbye to the friends he made while spending months on WoW 4/7/2007
Dave Moderation is the key to anything in life. Who sues the parents for not shutting the computer off and spending time with their own child. The game didn't kill their son. I'm involved in my sons activities and have a relationship with him. 4/3/2007
Claire Mendes I feel that its part of the parents faults for not limiting game playing. I mean arn't they supposed to be in control of their teens. Won't you people ever stop? You've done this to Marilyn Manson and you did this to Insane Clown Posse. Now your doing this to a game that means nothing. Its not that the people actually care its the fact that Blizzard has alot of money. Stop blaming someone for some one ELSES wrongs. I'm sorry but World Of Warcraft didn't tell anyone to go out and kill themself and it doesn't really intend that. 4/2/2007
YeahRight If it hadnt been World of Warcraft, it would have been something else. Kids who obsess over games, sports, drugs, alcohol, or other things have far deeper root issues.

Perhaps the parents should have seen the warning signs that might have prevented the childs death. You know, like how much he/she was playing the game.

This is a clear example of parents failing to know what their children are doing, and then using litigation to set things 'right'.

srh world of warcraft makes me wish we never had a computer 3/18/2007
a good 2/26/2007
Tayler Who the heck cares. It's his own dang fault. He got addicted. His parents didn't do crap about it in the first place. So I don't give a crap or feel sorry for this loser. 2/21/2007
Owen Though my thoughts go out to the griveing parents, I think it's rather hasty of them to place blame squarely on the game. The think to keep in mind here is that even though it is a "game", the other characters in it are also real people sitting in fron of their own PCs. People form groups/cliques online all the time. Some are safe while others are not. Whos to say this kid wasn't involved with the "wrong" kind of people online. Social interactions don't have to occur face to face anymore. What if a stranger had approached him at a restaurant and convinced him to commit suicide? Is the restaurant at fault? 2/21/2007
OMFG Parent's should see it coming. But maybe they're addicted to some other kind of drugs them self or just plain stupid?? 2/16/2007
mom teens who become totally addicted are usually withdrawn and have low self esteem, these should be warning signs for parents. Unfortunately this type of addiction is a big problem which is too new and not getting the recognition it should, unfortunately we will see more and more of these tragedies. 9/6/2006
Anonomyous Its the kids fault not the gaming company 9/6/2006
samson i think its very ironic that i saw an ad on this webpage for WoW gold, i mean that is SAD 8/31/2006
james What a tragic loss for the parents. But I believe that it is both the video game company's and the parent's fault for the death. The video game company is interested in profits and usually not the health of their players. But the parents should have more control over their child(ren). Video games are great and all but I believe that society has yet to catch up to them. 8/2/2006
Tim Are you freaking serious? The parents should have actually raised their kid right. I blame the parents, and the kid, not the game manufacturer. 6/9/2006
Simon Computer games are just another method to escape from reality. Every single human being on the planet does it in some form or another. Wether it be drinking, going to the movies, taking a long drive, or what you will. 4/12/2006
john doe you are retarted and enjoy living in hell after you get assainated 4/5/2006
Liam He had it coming. 3/21/2006
Rachel Lozano you people have issues suing a business for videogames, if you don't like it then don't buy it it is the parents fault!!!!! 1/19/2006
hoyo those parents are very dumb. 1/12/2006
