In at least some rheumatoid arthritis sufferers, the pain they feel may be an allergic reaction to a common group of food plants known as nightshades.

Beth I have read many articles on the subject of food and arthritis, and quite a few, like yours talk about the so-called nightshade problem. An equal number say that is a myth. I never eat potatoes or egg plant anyway, and go days without the other ones, and find no difference in my pain. I will try eliminating them completely, and see what happens, but I have doubts about those particular foods being a problem. At least for me. 7/25/2008
