VEE Okay, I'm a bit confuse on the 'Clarifying' Shampoo? One says, 'to use it for bouncy, tight curls' AND one says, 'don't use it more than once a month'... I have long curly hair, that has grown out (all its layers are gone) curls are way too long ( I want my bouncy curly hair back.) I know I need a 'good'cut. My hairdresser just isn't styling it... but shouldn't I ude this 'Clarifting' shampoo?... I live in R.I. and I would love to know a slaon that would help me get my curl back... 10/2/2008
NappyMeHappyMe 9. Don't brush your hair or put too much tension on it while it is still wet. This will cause breakage. Also, do not wear tight styles such as corn rows for extended periods of time unless you have ethnic hair.

Why do white folk think they know anything about ethnic hair. Geez. Wearing your hair in cornrows that are too tight for any length of time also causes ethnic hair to break as well. It can also cause a condition known as traction alopecia where the hair follicles are damaged, and in many instnaces won't grow back. People who wearing tight cornrows or hair extensions for long periods of time can be at risk for this condition. The hair articles on this site just kill me when it comes to making statements about black hair care. They are almost aways negative, and almost always misleading and/or simply false.
