brian everyone should be able to defend their self and family in a bad situation you have to make a disicion and you might not have alot of time to do so i think if you are in your home and a threat is being made on you or your family you have got to take the problem in your own hands if this means taking someone elses life instead of your childs or self you should be able to do what you have to do. 9/5/2009
tanya i feel if you are in your home and a life theaten you or your family you should have the right to defend ones life with whatever it takes that is your house and if you fear bodily harm you have the riht to define at any cost and means. 9/5/2009
Ed McCartney If the righteous don't stand their ground, they allow the evil to take over. It's time for the righteous to offend when the evil trespass.

Football teams don't win by being defensive. They win by offending.

Ted People should be allowed to self/ family/ and property protection against those that want to steal from and or harm them. The main reason the USA doesn't get attacked by other countries is becasue of our rights to keep and bear arms. In all the other countires where guns have been removed from law abiding people's, crimes against them have gone up becasue the criminals know they don't have to worry about someone defending themselves because that ability has been removed. 7/12/2008
Frank Yes, It's amazing out there in the Road's, public places there's no respect for the officer's, I allways go out with my Family and always carry my weapon, many close calls but always back up dont like problems infront of my Family so this is a Good Idea A+++++ 5/17/2008
Denis I believe that every law abiding person in America should be armed. 4/12/2008
MrBuggeye I voted yes, If i see someone braking into my home. I will let them know that I am "ARMED"!! And tell them thay don't have long to live !!
This country should be more educated and respect other peoples
lives and property.

Asturcon Well... I moved to Florida from European Union where citizens don't have rights like concealed carry or self-defense neither. Only the States through laws and police can use lethal force defending you. European Union Citizens are defenseless against criminals.

Now, in Florida... I have my concealed carry license and laws that protected me if a criminal come inside of my house or attack me or my family. I feel more secure against criminals here in Florida than in European Union.

Here, in Florida... I have my concealed carry licence, i

Lance Mikusek Sarah Brady misses the whole point of Concealed Weapons Licensees. Her husband was badly injured by a certified NUT case who would not be able to buy a handgun under present legislation (or the outlawed "killer bullets" he used in his attack on the president or her husband. Today's legally armed citizen is allowed to prevent a forcible felony on ANYBODY (somebody attempting to snatch a child off the street to have sex with them, example.) 1/25/2007
Lydell H. The exact reason for the no answer, that I agree with.
The only way you should use your weapon is if the other person
withdrawls their weapon first.

CARLOS ALBELO IT IS TIME THA FLORIDA RESIDENTS FEEL SAFE AT ANY GIVEN TIME OR PLACE FROM ANY FELONY ,WHICH YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THAT PERSON MIGTH DO TO YOU OR YOUR LOVE FAMILIES 8/23/2006
Hope Yes you should defend yourself. The police are not always on time. People do have guns and not always the right kind of people. 8/17/2006
G. Martin The new "Stand Your Ground" law has a big hole in it, and it looks like a bullet hole. Can anybody tell me what is "reasonable belief that threat does exist"? That can mean different things to different people. Certainly a paranoid or a drunk would be unlikely to make a sound decision. More over, I doubt most Floridians have the necessary training to use "deadly force" i.e a handgun or knife. It is so sad to see that our great USA is slipping backwards.

Lindsey H. I think this law is a good idea. People should be allowed to defend themselves without going to court. In fact, my group and I are writing a bill similar to this for our Tennessee State Youth Legislature. I think this law would make Tennessee, as well as all other states, a better place to live. 3/2/2006
John An armed citizenry is always a deterrent to violent crime, and those who fear firearm proliferation on the grounds that it is the opposite should have to be tested, registered, licensed, and taxed to the hilt in order to purchase an automobile or bottle of liquor. Both kill more people than guns. 11/17/2005
Chris Looks as if the Brady Clans fondest wishes did not come true in October here in Florida. Sorry guys the death rate did not spike over night. Nor do we who carry and have carried for years see it coming. Think of who is really scared when your attempting to incite fear nation and global wide, smart guys. 10/19/2005
Dan Thank you,Sarah Brady, The less people that come to Florida the better!!!!

Paul God, Guns & Guts keep america free, let's keep all three, it is about time a state has put the interest of the victims of crime in front of the criminals. 10/9/2005
Aardvarkseeker Of course I'll be bright, chirpy, and positive when someone is threatening to acquaint me with the guy with the hood and scythe. How rational and clear minded do lawmakers really think the majority of citizens carrying firearms are? It is fear that prompts one to carry weapons, and it is that same fear that will control their use. A lot more than a firearms training course is needed to change that. 10/8/2005
