I knew Helen throughout the seventies and she was a vibrant sexy woman who loved life to the full, I spent several times with her both in Hampstead and the little secret pad she had in St Johns Wood. Alas poor Jimmy had a stroke and she devoted a lot of her time in running the Eve.
She always told me lovely stories about what used to happen in the club and I would love to get in touch with her daughters sometime.
many of the girls who worked in the club really and truly liked her and she helped many get back on their feet again (no pun intended) yes it seemed seedy at the end but in the 60s and seventies the cabarets were really good and very enjoyable
where can I get a copy of the "Queen of Clubs"
May I just say that it was a privilage to have known her and I am sure that wherever she is now she will be livening up the place with her wit and charm and zestand I will always remember the times we spent together |

Hi I new Helen very well and liked her. I worked in Eve for a short time and stayed friends even after I left. I ovisited her often in her House in Ffrognal Lane ( met Marina) but lost touch after her departure for France. I was so sorry to hear she died. Was her book ever translated into English? |
