You can have a small apartment and a large dog as long as you have the ability to exercise the dog. Some large dogs only need a 20 min walk a day. German Shepards, Alaskan Malamute, Great Danes, Mastiffs, Greyhounds etc etc.		 9/20/2009

This is pure nonsense. Many small dogs have much more energy than bigger ones, and need just as much exercise and training. Size has nothing to do with energy levels. Because of people saying stupid things like this the world is full of bored and untrained small dogs.

Wrong again. A large dog can well live in an small apartment, it the breed is relatively calm indoors. The dog gets it's exercise outdoors, not inside the house. It's good to remember tho that these kinds of dogs need slightly more exercise than those living in urban homes.

Don't, all you'll get are opinions and "I had this once so it's good for you too". Go directly to breed associations and kennel clubs, find out what their descriptions are and then contact breeders. MANY of them, since also some breeders just want to make money by selling any dog to any home.		 9/3/2006
