yes i do concur with the other guys on the dizziness part.It most certainly made me dizzy and the doctor asked me to stop it and the dizziness vanished.Theres something to fish oil and thinning of blood coz i remember listening to a tape by Dr.Ross walker whos a renowned heart specialist and his study on eskimos who eat mostly fish and their heightened chance of heart failures i think. It had to do with the fish oil thinning their blood. So i guess dizziness could be attributed to the same factor?Maybe. |

Further correction on the Daily Mail article on Fish Oil. The article stated ritalin causes dizziness not the fish oil. But other articles have stated some cases of light headed dizziness with fish oil, but it does not seem to be a too significant symptom. In any case, consulting a doctor for any unexplained or mysterious dizziness, is advisable, particularly if the dizziness persists for an extended period of time. |

The following web site article, entitled: "Fish Oil Calms Children better than Ritalin" 20th June 2006 Daily Mail. This article cites dizzziness and light headness as side effects of fish oil supplements. Other side effects are also touched on by the article. A second artilce: "Fish Oil to Lower Triglycerides" May 12 2007. Michael Byrd. illustrates more processes that fish oil initiates in the body. That is fish oil's effects on various bodily metabolic functions involving QT elongation intervals, cholesterol, and heart tissue functions ect. the above two articles begin to answer substantially what you're looking for in the info. on fish oil side effects. And finally, a good doctor would also be good to consult for further information on fish oil effects on general human health, since medical people could have additional information from first hand experience with people that could mix the fish oil supplements with other substances and get all kindsof other symptoms and side effects not commonly seen. All that depends on how far you want to go on the fish oil side effect investigation. Good luck. |

According to health care experts visiting a Chatham County N.C. Diabetes Meeting (that I attend), omega three has been advocated as therapeutic for treating diabetes, for both diabetes 1 and diabetes 2 sufferers. I have taken 2400 mg of mega 3 daily for a type of diabetes that I got in 2001-03, that is a diabetic condition from an adverse effect from the drug risperdal. My condition is more like a hyperglycemic condition with glucose control loss with fastings and post prandial elevations, hence a garden variety type of diabetes. I have not experienced any glucose elevations over the 3 1/2 years of omega 3 use. Omega 3 has long been recommended by diabetes specialists that I recall in a lot of medical info. Only some other coexisting medical condition along with diabetes, such a coexisting condition, that would adversely react to omega 3 fish oil, that would worsen the already diabetic condition, is the only reason not to use omega 3. A doctor is the primary person that could clarify that situation. |

Omega three has been asserted to prevent Diabetes 1, according to a late Spetember 2007 article found on the web site Diabetes Topix. This fact, that omega three amounts can prevent diabetes 1 reveals how similar diabetes and diabetes 2 are. I would not be surprised to find that diabetes 1 and diabetes 2 to be the same disorder, eventually. The doctor, Richard Fiddian Green's article - "Schizophrenia and adverse effects of its treatments on mitochondrial metabolism" conveys the existence of prominent membrane permeability in the mitochondria as a function of omega three metabolic dysfunction. Interestingly, in his article, the increased membrane permeability fetaure that he used was in primary reference to schizophrenia, cardiovascular, and by strong implication, diabetes disorders. What is furthermore interesting, all of these above characteristics of Richard Fiddian Green's thinking on omega three fatty acid status and its relationship to the deleterious increased membrane permeability of the mitochondria, was never intended to be relevant to diabetes 1. Yet with the omega three September 2007 article referred to above, diabetes 1 and diabetes 2 are drawn closer togehter in similarity with their common denominator condition, of omega three metabolism as either a dysfunctional component potentially of diabetes 2 as Green inferred, or as a preventive therapeutic of diabetes 1 as the Sept. article conveyed. Sooner or later, diabetes 1 and diabetes 2 may as well be the same disorder in a lot of regards even though research at present is not replete enough to affirm that fact. But possibly an interesting development in the research future ahead. |

I dont see where any doctors are backing this fish oil gimmick or that it is safe for children. I think all this fish oil stuff is a bunch of crap. all of the articles I have read none of them say that you should consult your physician before starting, where is the safety in this. |
